How much is the monthly fee?

*Total fees charges = school fees + standard miscellaneous fees + 2nd tier miscellaneous fees
Students are to pay school fees for all 12 months. This is because the total cost of running a school and the corresponding fees payable are calculated on an annual basis. The fees payable are then spread out over a period of 12 months.
School fees currently are being charged on a monthly basis. Students can pay school fees in advance for the whole year and the credit balance will be used to offset against future MOE bills.
Modes of Payment
Payment can be made in the following ways:
Send crossed cheque by post or by hand to your child’/ward’s school. The cheque should be made payable to Ministry of Education. Please write the Pupil Name, Class, Pupil identification and your contact number on the reverse of your cheque and enclose the detachable portion of bill. If your cheque is for more than one pupil, please state the amount for each pupil.
You may also send the cheque by post to Ministry of Education, Finance & Development Division, Collection Unit, 1 North Buona Vista Drive, Singapore 138675.
Cash payment can be made at the school or the Customer Service Centre (CSC) at the Ministry of Education. Please bring along the bill when making payment.
(c ) NETS
NETS payment can also be made at Customer Service Centre (CSC). Please bring along the bill when making payment.
(d) Online Bill Payment
Please go to the website at www.ecitizen.gov.sg/govbill/index.html for the Online Bill Collection Service.
(e) Giro (General Interbank Recurring Order)
What is GIRO?
GIRO is an automated electronic payment service which allows you to pay school and miscellaneous fees.
Benefits of GIRO
a. Fees are deducted from your bank account on the due date. Your child/ward need not bring large sums of cash to school monthly. Also, the teacher will not make use of valuable lesson time collecting fees.
b. Cash-paying pupils have to pay the fees for Nov and Dec in one lump-sum in Nov. Pupils who pay fees through GIRO will continue to have their fees deducted monthly.
c. Refund of fees due to change in fee status will be automatically credited to your bank account.
Procedure of joining GIRO
To join the GIRO scheme, complete and return the GIRO Application Form to the school.
Bank account for GIRO
You may use any bank account (be it POSB, DBS or other banks) including Trust POSBkids Account for GIRO deduction. The Trust POSBKids Account is for children aged 15 and below. There is no need to place an initial deposit to open this account for your child. To find out more about Trust POSBkids Account, please call 6339 6666 or visit any POSBank Branch or the bank’s website at www.dbs.com.
Parents who wish to change their GIRO account can go to their banks to effect the change directly. This is provided that the new account is with the same bank.
Processing time for new GIRO application
The normal processing time will take one to two months depending on the bank. There will be no deduction made from GIRO while it is still in the process of activation.
Deduction Dates for GIRO
Deductions are made on 26th of each month from February to December. If the 26th falls on a Saturday, Sunday or Public Holiday, deductions will be made on the next working day. You are advised to maintain sufficient funds for deduction.
If GIRO fails in one month, the balance will be carried forward to be deducted with the next month’s fees. The GIRO account will be suspended if it fails in the next month or have arrears exceeding 2 consecutive months’ fees.
Once the arrears are settled full in cash/by cheque/online payment, the GIRO account will be automatically re-instated.
Termination of GIRO agreement
If you are the account holder, you can terminate GIRO by submitting a Termination Order to the Ministry. If you are not the account holder, please write to the Ministry of Education, Finance & Development Division, Pupil Financial Services Section, c/o North Buona Vista Drive, MOE Building, Singapore 138675, for advice.
Parents can submit the Termination Form (http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/files/giro-terminateform.doc), together with the new GIRO Application Form (http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/files/giroform.doc) to MOE. The termination form will have to be completed by the existing GIRO account holder. This is also applicable to students who are using their own account for GIRO payment.
Beside school and miscellaneous fees, your GIRO account will also be used for other deductions. These include your child’s/ward’s various national examination fees (Primary School Leaving Examination and GCE Examinations) and JAE fee (Joint Admission Exercise for admission to Junior Colleges/Centralised Institute) and charges imposed by the schools. You will be informed of the deduction dates and amounts payable when your child/ward is taking part in these examinations/exercises.
Currently, it is not possible to make school fees payment through other means such as AXS, Sam or SINGPOST.
Second-tier Miscellaneous Fees
You may apply to use your child’s/ward’s Edusave accounts to pay the second-tier miscellaneous fees. Please fill up a copy of the Application For Withdrawal Of Funds From Edusave Account obtainable from the school.
If you are applying for GIRO to pay the school fees and if you wish to apply to use your child’s/ward’s Edusave account for payment of second-tier miscellaneous fee, please tick on the appropriate box in PART 1A.
School fees and standard miscellaneous fees cannot be paid from Edusave account. Parents are required to directly contribute to the cost of their children’s education in the form of school fees and standard miscellaneous fees. For needy Singaporeans on the MOE Financial Assistance Scheme, their school and standard miscellaneous fees are waived.
Students who do not have an existing GIRO account and students who opt out from GIRO will pay the examination fees either by cash or cheque. Students on MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) would be given 75% waiver of the national examination fees.
